You + Germany + ConnectPRO = Awesome
Just a reminder to anyone and everyone, ConnectPRO will be presenting their amazing array of high technology at this year's CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany. The show runs from March 2-6, and is the world's largest trade fair to showcase digital IT and Telecommunications solutions.
According to CeBIT's official website, the key target groups are users from industry, the wholesale/retail sector, skilled trades, banks, the services sector, government agencies, science and all users passionate about technology.
ConnectPRO will be showcasing their full range of KVM switches, KVM/USB extenders, Touch-screen sharing/extenders,
OEM/ODM KVM solutions, and DDC-EDID emulators. Where all the action is: #F34, in the Taiwan pavillion No. 17.

Soon to be released USB with Hot-key controls
ConnectPRO is excited to be announcing that shortly, all USB PRO KVM switches will feature hot-key controls which allow a user to switch ports with a short key combination on the keyboard. This is the pinnacle of convenience for the operation of a KVM switch and is relatively new for 2-port and 4-port USB 2.0 KVM Switches.
For some time, other manufacturers have provided USB KVM switches that support hot-key controls, however, often times at the expense of general keyboard functionality. ConnectPRO's new PRO series featuring hot-keys is unique in the sense that it doesn't offer hot-key support at the expense of anything. A customer can still use their multi-function keyboard, as well as a wireless keyboard/mouse combination - there's absolutely no confusion caused by a single USB connector controlling both keyboard and mouse.
Another issue that users have sometimes had with hot-key KVMs in the past, is hot-key interference. The standard hot-key for all ConnectPRO KVM switches has always been the left Control button. In the event that that particular keystroke is used for something else on your computer or in a specific application, the new USB PRO with hot-key controls will allow you to change the hot-key to another of the 4 options.

New Products Available for Stable Video Performance
ConnectPRO is proud to introduce a new product line aimed at helping customers achieve optimal and stable video, regardless of what KVM switch or other devices they are working with. ConnectPRO's new DDC Emulator comes in two forms to include both VGA and DVI requirements.
The ConnectPRO DDC (Data Display Channel) Emulator is designed to solve the problem that computers can sometimes lose the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID). The DDC EDID data is vital for the video extension; it is a data structure provided by a computer display to describe its chracteristics to a graphics card. However, when you switch or disconnect and then reconnect the displays such as monitor, you may lose DDC EDID and the user's computer fails to display the image properly.
Now, such is no longer the case if you use ConnectPRO's VGA or DVI DDC Emulator module. The ConnectPRO DDC Emulator allows the user to have best video image setting all the time. Through an easy programmed process, the display's DDC EDID is memorized in the DDC module, thus preventing our customers from blank screens and boot problems as well as resolving the issue of display resolution and color due to a lack of DDC EDID information.

ConnectPRO Presents New DDM KVM Switch at Computex 2009, wins one of a handful of Best Choice awards, and brings home one of only two coveted Jury's Special Awards
Winning Reason:
- This product is an industry level USB DDM KVM switch; compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS; plug-and-play operation and faster KVM switching; highly compatible with HID devices and USB touch screens; additional front USB port for device sharing; supports all-time full DDC for better display quality.
- As the first touch screen sharing KVM switch in the market and embedded with the technologies of friendly applications - shows its innovation.
- With very high compatibility of USB devices for KVM solutions and compliance of new OS like Windows 7 demonstrates the market potential of this KVM switch.
- This product implements two patented technologies (DDM and Dual-core structure) making this KVM switch fully transparent to both ends (console device and connected systems).
Features:
- 100% Maintain the compatibility
- With ConnectPRO's patented DDM Technology, the communication between shared devices and connected systems is maintained 100% of the time, even when switching the shared devices from the controlled systems. When switching ports there is no more lag time while the computer has to re-recognize the connected devices.
- The world's first Touch-Screen sharing KVM switch
- By using a DDM USB KVM switch, the channel switching will not be limited by keyboards and mice. Any USB Touch-screen monitor can be shared and accessed with multiple systems/servers. Most of the computer room operators' routine works do not need to edit or key-in the text; switching connected PCs/Servers from a single touch monitor through DDM KVM switch would be much easier and able to save more space in computer rooms.
- DDM plus Windows 7
- As ConnectPRO's USB DDM technology has just advanced to its next stage, more USB devices can be included with DDM mapping to work with Windows 7's new "device stage" hardware management. That means ConnectPRO provides the "active" hardware DDM for a 100% match to WIndows 7's "active" software DDM - the new WIndows 7's "Device Stage"

ConnectPRO's President Rex Wu receives Jury's Special award from Taiwan's Prime Minister
May 13, 2009
ConnectPRO Joins EPA's ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign
Today, ConnectPRO joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign by enabling the power management, or sleep mode, on their computers and monitors. This simple step will help reduce the nation’s growing demand for electricity, save organizations money and help fight global warming.
If all office computers and monitors in the U.S. were set to sleep when not being used, the country could save more than 44 billion kWh or $4 billion worth of electricity and avoid the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of about 5 million cars each year.
"We are proud to be part of this effort to reduce the carbon footprint of our IT operations," said ConnectPRO President Rex Wu. "The efficient use of computers and monitors is something our company strives to improve, not only for our bottom line, but also for the benefit of the environment." Rex adds, "Hand in hand this plays into our goal of cutting power consumption by installing KVM switches to desktop environments. A KVM switch allows a user to effectively manage and utilize multiple computers from only one monitor, keyboard, and mouse."
ConnectPRO joins the ranks of leading businesses and organizations who are participating in the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign, including Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., Association of Bay Area Governments Energy Watch, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Dell, Inc., Fox Entertainment Group, Inc., HP, Microsoft, OfficeMax, and the list goes on.
"EPA is pleased to recognize ConnectPRO as a participant in the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign," said ENERGY STAR Program Manager Steve Ryan. "By taking this simple pledge, we can make a substantial difference in the fight against global warming. ENERGY STAR’s power management tools offer a cost-effective way to save energy, money, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions."
Power management enables computers and monitors to go into a low-power sleep mode after a period of inactivity. Power management has the potential to save up to $ 50 per computer annually. Despite the significant savings, according to Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, only a scant five to ten percent of U.S. organizations have deployed these settings on computers.
To join the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign, organizations simply take an online pledge to activate power management features on their monitors and computers to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint. Organizations can increase energy savings further by purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified computers and monitors. In turn, EPA provides free assistance to help implement power management, an estimate of the organization's energy and carbon savings, and official recognition from the agency. Organizations can join the campaign by visiting www.energystar.gov/lowcarbonit.
About ENERGY STAR:
ENERGY STAR was introduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased energy efficiency. Today, ENERGY STAR offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, money and help protect the environment for future generations. More than 12,000 organizations are ENERGY STAR partners committed to improving the energy efficiency of products, homes, buildings and businesses.
