New Line of DVI A/V Switches by ConnectPRO
ConnectPRO Plans Mid-March Release of AV Switches
ConnectPRO is pleased to reveal the upcoming additions to their existing line of AV products. The all-new ADS series of AV switches provides ultimate stability with ConnectPRO’s all-time full DDC capabilities.
Currently ConnectPRO already has the AVS-18-I, 8-port AV switch which features support for analog VGA video and audio only. The new products to be available by March 15 will be the 2-port ADS-12-I, 4-port ADS-14-I, and 8 port ADS-18-I; all offerin support for DVI video and audio. Without providing any keyboard or mouse control, these devices will allow you to seamlessly switch between up to 8 different digital video and audio sources. With ConnectPRO’s active DDC technology, there will not be issues with video resolution when switching back and forth as the connected computers will always recognize what specific display or projector is connected.

Much like with the existing AVS-18-I, the DVI/Audio switches allow for the audio and video switching to be either synched or unsynched, allowing fuller flexibility when determining which port to make active for video, and which to make active for audio. The switches can be controlled with the built-in front-panel pushbuttons, by IR remote (available separately), or via RS232 control.

ConnectPRO--with offices in Southern California, New York, Taiwan has been offering quality professional I.T. and A/V solutions since 1992 while being committed to a high level of reliability and customer service.

8-Port DVI A/V Switch available through ConnectPRO
ConnectPRO to Release DVI A/V Switch in February
ConnectPRO's all new ADS-18-I allows the user to choose from up to eight audio/video inputs at the touch of a button. The DVI version joins ConnectPRO's VGA based AVS-18-I to give the customer an additional choice when it comes to their professional audio/video requirements.
The ADS and AVS Series allows for one DVI/VGA display and audio speaker/microphone to be shared between up to 8 source computers. By default the switching is synchronized so that audio and video are switched together, but also allows for the two to be unsynchronized, enabling the audio and video to be switched independently of each other.
The all new ADS-18-I is available for order immediately. Please contact a ConnectPRO representative for ordering information.

VGA Audio/Video Distribution Amplifiers with Control Now Available
ConnectPRO announces new product line of A/V Distribution Amplifiers
ConnectPRO is pleased to announce that it has released a new product line of professional audio/video distribution amplifiers. The two new roster additions are the VSC-102 (2-port) and VSC-104 (4-port). Unique to these splitters is the ability to remotely control video output on all or select ports with an IR remote (Part # RC-04, sold separately). In addition to the unique IR remote control capabilities, video output can also be controlled via an RS-232 connection to a computer, or through the front panel push buttons on the Splitter itself.
ConnectPRO currently offers a variety of Video Splitter choices, and all of them feature premium quality, exceptional resolution, and great performance. The new VSC series joins ConnectPRO's VSE series to provide an effective solution for a variety of A/V distribution requirements. Stereo Audio is available on both the VSE and VSC series. All models boast 400MHz video bandwidth which can support high resolutions and longer distances. ConnectPRO's video splitters give you the freedom of sharing one VGA video and audio source with multiple displays while functioning as a signal amplifier as well.
The new VSC series is available for order immediately. Please contact a ConnectPRO representative for ordering information.

DAISY CHAIN ENABLED SWITCHING WITH KVM SWITCHES
ConnectPRO announces Daisy Chain Capability with their switches
With prior models of PLUS series KVM switches from ConnectPRO, daisy-chain configurations were not possible, but ConnectPRO is announcing that daisy-chaining multiple KVM switches together is now possible.
“Daisy chaining” is another method of expanding the capacity of a KVM switch configuration. In a simple daisy chained installation, the KVM switches are strung together in a “chain.” The first daisy chained switch is referred to as the Master unit while each subsequent unit is referred to as the Slave unit. In most daisy chain configurations, the total number of consoles is increased as the number of units that are daisy chained increases. The console that belongs to the Master KVM unit can also access and control all of the computers down the daisy chain configuration. Typically, daisy chaining preserves CPU ports by using Chain In and Chain Out ports to attach each daisy chained switch.
For customers interested in this configuration, please contact a ConnectPRO team member for more details and instructions.

SPECIAL EDITION DDM KVM SWITCH FIRMWARE ANNOUNCED
ConnectPRO to Release Firmware Supporting Logitech's G15 Keyboard
ConnectPRO has announced an update to their existing line of PLUS series KVM switches which feature ConnectPRO’s patented DDM (Dynamic Device Mapping) technology.
The update comes in the form of “special edition” firmware, which provides added stability and support for USB HID devices, as well as compatibility for other USB wireless devices, which have historically been problematic with a broad array of switches from other KVM manufacturers. ConnectPRO is proud to announce that in addition to specifically providing a Logitech SetPoint compatible KVM, they now have added support for Logitech’s G15 gaming keyboard with special emphasis on the macro G-keys and LCD screen.
This update will apply to all PLUS version models incorporating the DDM technology, which provides full USB-HID transparency effectively mapping a keyboard and mouse to each connected system. This provides greater stability for switching between systems, and faster response times, as the individual computers need not to re-enumerate your devices. DDM technology also allows stable control of USB touch-screen displays, without having to deal with constant re-calibration. In addition to the DDM ports, there is an additional USB 1.1 port for any USB devices to be shared, which do not conform to USB-HID standards.
Firmware is available immediately for the UD-12-PLUS (2-port, USB/DVI) and UR-14-PLUS (4-port USB/VGA), with the other models to be available within the next month. Contact a ConnectPRO representative for further details.

NEW LINE OF VIDEO SPLITTERS ALLOWS SELECTIVE PORT OUTPUT CONTROLS
ConnectPRO to Release VSC line of VGA Video Splitters
ConnectPRO is pleased to announce that it has released a new line of VGA video splitters, which add to the functionality of their existing high quality and professional grade Video Splitters.
The all new VSC line of splitters will, just like their VSE predecessor, provide high resolution 400MHz video bandwidth to each port, along with support for DDC/EDID information. In addition to those specs and features which are now standard with ConnectPRO video splitters, the VSC line will provide individual port control--allowing outputs to be toggled on and off in order to split video from the source selectively out to connected displays, projectors, etc.
The VSC-12 and VSC-14, the two and four port models respectively, are available for pre-order immediately. Contact a ConnectPRO representative for further details.

SPECIAL EDITION DDM KVM SWITCH FIRMWARE ANNOUNCED
ConnectPRO to Release Firmware Supporting Logitech's MX Series
ConnectPRO has announced an update to their existing line of PLUS series KVM switches which feature ConnectPRO’s patented DDM (Dynamic Device Mapping) technology.
The update comes in the form of “special edition” firmware, which provides added stability for USB HID devices, as well as compatibility for other USB wireless devices, which have historically been problematic with a broad array of KVM switches from many different manufacturers. ConnectPRO is proud to announce that in addition to specifically providing a Logitech SetPoint compatible KVM, they now have added support for Logitech’s MX series of serial keyboard and mouse devices, as well as a variety of other wireless Bluetooth devices, which include dedicated USB receivers.
Firmware for the UR-14+, 4-port USB/VGA KVM switch is available immediately, with all other models to be available within the next week. Contact a ConnectPRO representative for further details.

NEW DDM KVM SWITCH ANNOUNCED
ConnectPRO Plans to Release 8-port DVI and USB KVM Switch
ConnectPRO has announced plans that they will release a new DVI KVM switch featuring their patented DDM (Dynamic Device Mapping) technology.

The new switch bears the part number UD-18-PLUS, and as the name infers will allow a single console to control up to 8 computers with DVI and USB connections. Previously, the 2-port and 4-port versions have been available and selling well internationally. More recently, a 12-port version has been available as well. Now, the UD-18-PLUS will arrive as a better fitting solution for mid-range needs--more than 4 systems, but not as many as 12.
The UD-18-PLUS, like all other PLUS version models, incorporates the DDM technology, which provides full USB-HID transparency effectively mapping a keyboard and mouse to each connected system.
All DVI connections on the UD-18-PLUS will be DVI-I. This will provide greater overall compatibility for analog as well as digital connections. The switch will also provide HDCP by-pass to avoid complications with any copy-protected security.
The new switch is scheduled for release in December, and will be available directly through ConnectPRO, as well as standard online resellers.

NEW KVM EXTENDER MODELS ANNOUNCED
ConnectPRO Plans to Release Two Models of their DDM KVM Extender
ConnectPRO has announced plans that they will now release two versions of their KVM extender over Cat-5 type cable. Originally intending to release one model, ConnectPRO will now make available two separate models of their EOC-KVM extender.
The base level EOC-KVMUS model will provide full support for VGA video and USB HID extension for up to 1000’ over Cat-5 cable. This provides excellent means for custom length extension to provide wired remote access to a server or server rack stowed away, in a basement server room, or sealed off in a secure location.
The separate model, EOC-KVM-USA offers all the benefits of the previous, but with a separate mode that allows you to, with the flip of a switch, provide solely audio and video extension. This is ideal for AV professionals whose needs might adapt from needing full control of a system, to only requiring Audio and Video to be pushed to a remote projector and speakers. Both models feature ConnectPRO’s patented DDM technology.
With ConnectPRO's patented DDM technology, the communication between shared devices and connected systems is maintained 100% of the time. DDM applies to KVM extenders, ensuring full USB-HID transparency between local and remote ends, so there is no loss in functionality with keyboards, mice, and touch-screen monitors. Touch-screens can be connected to the USB/Serial KVM extender and calibrated one time, and then work reliably as the DDM ensures the touch-screen remains stable and functional. DDM technology along with another patented dual-core KVM distribution switching technology has become the most reliable and robust KVM core technology in the world.
ConnectPRO—with offices in Southern California, New York, and Taiwan—has been offering quality professional I.T. and A/V solutions since 1992 while being committed to a high level of reliability and customer service.

NEW PATENT AWARDED FOR DEVICE MAPPING FUNCTION
New built-in technology looks to change the face of KVM switches
Pending since 2008, ConnectPRO—a company headquartered in Walnut, CA—has recently been awarded the patent for its DDM, Dynamic Device Mapping technology. The patent itself, now confirmed and issued by the USA patent office, is for a technology that affects the way every connected computer on a KVM switch will recognize USB HID devices connected to the KVM console.
DDM allows for KVM switches to move above and beyond the traditional USB Hub type switches, as well as models using a type of Emulation for the keyboard and mouse. Providing added stability, all connected computers recognize the specific keyboard, mouse, and USB HID devices connected to the KVM's DDM ports. With switches, this means there is no lag-time when switching ports while the USB is re-enumerated, and no loss in functionality with special-function keyboards and mice.
With ConnectPRO's patented DDM technology, the communication between shared devices and connected systems is maintained 100% of the time even when switching the shared devices from the controlled systems. Likewise, DDM applies to KVM extenders, ensuring full USB-HID transparency between local and remote ends, so there is no loss in functionality with keyboards, mice, or touch-screens.
This prevents interruptions in communication between shared devices and connected systems/computers, and reduces wait time when switching KVM ports. Added to that is support for touch-screen sharing. Touch-screens can be connected to the USB KVM switch and shared between multiple computers using the DDM USB ports. The DDM will ensure the touch-screen remains stable and functional, not requiring to be re-calibrated when switching back and forth. DDM technology along with another patented dual-core KVM distribution switching technology has become the most reliable and robust KVM switch core technology in the world.
ConnectPRO—with offices in Southern California, New York, and Taiwan—has been offering quality professional I.T. and A/V solutions since 1992 while being committed to a high level of reliability and customer service.

New Table and Demo Videos Available Confirming DDM Compatible Devices
ConnectPRO opens up a go-to page for compatible USB peripherals proven supported by ConnectPRO's KVM switches featuring the USB DDM technology. The benefit of Dynamic Device Mapping (DDM) is that the KVM switch is able to recognize precisely what USB HID devices you have connected, and then map those to each computer. That means at any given time, all connected computers recognize that those particular devices are connected. There's no lag time when switching ports, no need for Windows or Mac OS to re-detect, or initialize the USB devices when you switch to that computer. It works seamlessly.
The problem has been that some device manufacturers have not limited their devices to true USB standards, and so the process for creating a switch able to map those particular devices can get complicated. In most cases, all USB HID devices are fully compatible with the DDM technology, but there has always been rare instances where a particular setup, or combination of devices, has caused an issue when going through the DDM switch. In most of those cases we have been able to release updated firmware aimed at resolving any of those incompatibilities.
The point of this new section of ConnectPRO's website is to provide assurance to customers and prospective customers, that our DDM KVM switches have been tested and verified compatible with particular input devices, be it Logitech, Microsoft, Elo, or Wacom. In some cases, video demonstrations are available which show how the devices perform.

ConnectPRO Releases New Generation of USB DDM KVM Switches
Today, ConnectPRO released the much anticipated newest generation of its USB DDM KVM switch lines. The newly released version offers improvement in the following areas:
-
Supports all USB HID devices (including touch-screen monitors, pen tablets, gaming devices, wireless keyboard and mouse combinations, etc...) to be shared among/between the KVM's connected systems. More end-point devices can be shared without generating any HPD (hot-plug detection) events on any of the connected systems, which is increasingly important as individuals and companies move to Windows 7 environments.
-
New concurrent Full-time Active DDC/EDID functionality is included in the new generation's hardware, which is a requirement put forth by Microsoft's guidelines for Windows 7 KVM switching solutions.
-
Provides support for more OS power saving modes to aid in saving electricity and cutting costs.
-
Simple hot-key identification and reconfiguration, as current hot-key combination can be identified on front panel of KVM switchbox, and a different hot-key combination can be selected.
-
A customized hot-key combination can be implemented with firmware upgrade via serial port.
This newer generation of USB DDM KVM Switches is changing the KVM industry once again, with advanced, patented technologies solely owned and developed by ConnectPRO. They are available in VGA and DVI versions with 2, 4, 8, and 12-port models to be available. ODM and Importers are welcomed to inquire.

Soon to be released USB with Hot-key controls
ConnectPRO is excited to be announcing that shortly, all USB PRO KVM switches will feature hot-key controls which allow a user to switch ports with a short key combination on the keyboard. This is the pinnacle of convenience for the operation of a KVM switch and is relatively new for 2-port and 4-port USB 2.0 KVM Switches.
For some time, other manufacturers have provided USB KVM switches that support hot-key controls, however, often times at the expense of general keyboard functionality. ConnectPRO's new PRO series featuring hot-keys is unique in the sense that it doesn't offer hot-key support at the expense of anything. A customer can still use their multi-function keyboard, as well as a wireless keyboard/mouse combination - there's absolutely no confusion caused by a single USB connector controlling both keyboard and mouse.
Another issue that users have sometimes had with hot-key KVMs in the past, is hot-key interference. The standard hot-key for all ConnectPRO KVM switches has always been the left Control button. In the event that that particular keystroke is used for something else on your computer or in a specific application, the new USB PRO with hot-key controls will allow you to change the hot-key to another of the 4 options.
